Dr. Matt McKnight was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois graduating from Marmion Academy in 2001. He then graduated from Washington University in St. Louis 2005. He always was interested in both medicine and dentistry since high school.

During dental school he realized Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was the only specialty that fully embraced medicine and dentistry daily and worked towards getting into OMS residency during dental school. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 2011, obtaining his D.D.S. (Doctorate in Dental Surgery) and began his 6-year OMS residency immediately after. He obtained both his M.D. (Doctorate in Medicine) 2014 and general surgery internship certificate 2015 from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and affiliated hospitals. In 2017, he completed his advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Illinois with training at Northwestern, Christ Advocate, Jesse Brown VA, and the University of Illinois Hospitals.

He was a clinical assistant professor at the UIC College of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from August 2019- January 2022.

He was on staff at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oaklawn, IL from 2017-2020.

He is currently on staff at Northwestern Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL 2023.

He is a member in good standing in all pertinent organizations at the city, state, and national levels. (ADA, ISDS, CDS, AAOMS, ABOMS, ACS, AMA)

He was an associate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Chicagoland at two practices in Orland Park, Park Ridge and Arlington Heights from 2017-20 and bought the existing practice in St. Charles in February 2020.

Lastly, Dr. Matt has extensive training in anesthesia and surgery and utilizes the newest techniques and state of the art virtual planning for all types of surgical cases including tooth extractions, bone grafting, dental implants, orthognathic, trauma and benign pathology.
